WARNING FOR LAND AREAS

SITUATION
A low pressure system lies to the southern waters of Tongatapu, 'Eua, Tele-ki-Tonga and Tele-ki-Tokelau. Associated clouds with occasional rain and strong winds will continue to affect the southern waters of Tongatapu and 'Eua, Tele-ki-Tonga and Tele-ki-Tokelau until tonight. This system is expected to move further southeastward and away from these vicinities by tonight. Meanwhile, a weak trough lies over Vava'u, Ha'apai and the eastern of Tongatapu and 'Eua which is expected to move westward and approach Tongatapu and 'Eua by this evening. Associated cloudy with occasional showers will affect these areas until tomorrow.
FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT TOMORROW FOR TONGA
FOR THE NIUAS:
Light to moderate northeast winds, becoming easterly by later tomorrow afternoon
Mainly fine apart from cloudy periods with light showers.

FOR VAVA'U AND HA'APAI:
Light to moderate northeast winds, becoming easterly by later tomorrow afternoon
Cloudy with scattered showers.

FOR TONGATAPU AND 'EUA:
Light to moderate north to northeasterly winds.
Mainly fine but becoming cloudy periods with scattered showers, possibly heavy at times later this evening.

Possible patches of fog by tonight.

FOR ALL OF TONGA:
Light to moderate east wind becoming fresh at times over the Niuas and Vava'u in the afternoon. Tending northeast for Tongatapu and 'Eua in the Night
Mainly fine but there will be cloudy periods with scattered showers.

FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT TOMORROW FOR TONGA COASTAL WATERS
FOR TELE-KI-TONGA AND TELE-KI-TOKELAU COASTAL WATERS:
North to Northwesterly winds 15-20 knots and rising up to 25-30 knots at times.
Rough seas (3 metres). Poor visibilities in waters of heavy rain and thunderstorms. Winds will gradually become southwesterly by tomorrow morning and southeast at the afternoon of 10-15 knots. Becoming slight to moderate seas (2 metres).

FOR VAVA'U, HA'APAI, TONGATAPU AND 'EUA COASTAL WATERS:
North to northeasterly winds 10-15 knots.
Slight to moderate seas (up to 2 metres).

FOR THE NIUAS COASTAL WATERS:
East to northeast winds 10-15 knots. Tending southeast by tomorrow afternoon and rising up to 20 knots at times. Slight to moderate seas (up to 1.5 metres and 2 metres by tomorrow afternoon)

East to southeasterly winds 10-15 knots and rising up to 20 knots.
Moderate seas (up to 2 metres).
