WARNING FOR LAND AREAS
A HEAVY RAIN WARNING AND FLASH FLOOD ADVISORY IS NOW IN FORCE FOR THE NIUAS LAND AREAS BUT REMAIN IN FORCE FOR TONGATAPU, 'EUA, HA'APAI AND VAVA'U LAND AREAS.

A STRONG WIND WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR VAVA'U, HA'APAI, TONGATAPU AND 'EUA LAND AREAS.
SITUATION
A trough lies over all of Tonga. Associated cloudy conditions, occasional rain, and thunderstorms are expected to affect most parts of the group for tonight and tomorrow. Meanwhile, fresh to strong east to northeast winds prevail across Tonga.

Moderate to fresh east to northeast winds, strong at times.
Mostly cloudy and overcast at times with occasional rain, heavy at times with isolated thunderstorms. Possible flooding in low-lying areas due to heavy rain.

FOR THE NIUAS:
Light to moderate east to northeast winds, fresh at times.
Mostly cloudy and overcast at times with developing occasional rain, heavy at times with potential of isolated thunderstorms. Possible flooding in low-lying areas due to heavy rain.

FOR TONGATAPU, 'EUA, HA'APAI AND VAVA'U:
Light to moderate east to southeasterly winds, fresh at times.
Mostly cloudy and occasional rain, can be heavy at times with potential of thunderstorms. Condition are expected to improve later in the afternoon

Light to moderate west to northwest winds. Turning southwesterly later in the afternoon. Mostly cloudy with occasional rain, can be heavy at times with potential of thunderstorms.

A STRONG WIND WARNING AND SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY REMAIN IN FORCE FOR THE NIUAS AND VAVA'U COASTAL WATERS.
FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT TOMORROW FOR TONGA COASTAL WATERS
FOR TELE-KI-TONGA AND TELE-KI-TOKELAU, TONGATAPU, 'EUA AND HA'APAI COASTAL WATERS:
East to northeast wind of 20-25 knots and gusting up to 35-45 knots at times. Rough to very rough seas (up to 3.5-4.5 metres). A moderate southeasterly swell (up to 3 metres). Poor visibilities in waters of heavy rain.

FOR VAVA'U COASTAL WATERS:
East to northeast wind of 10-20 knots then rising up to 25-30 knots at times.
Moderate to rough seas (up to 3 metres). A moderate southeasterly swell (up to 3 metres). Poor visibilities in waters of heavy rain.

FOR THE NIUAS COASTAL WATERS:
East to northeast wind of 10-15 knots, rising up to 20-25 knots at times. Become west to northwest later tonight.
Moderate seas (up to 2.5 metres). A moderate southeasterly swell (up to 2.5). Poor visibilities in waters of heavy rain.

FOR HA'APAI AND VAVA'U COASTAL WATERS:
East to northeast wind of 15-20 knots, rising up to 25-30 knots at times. Moderate to rough seas (up to 2.5-3 metres). A moderate southeasterly swell (up to 2.5 metres). Poor visibilities in waters if heavy rain.

FOR THE NIUAS COASTAL WATERS:
West to northwest wind of 10-15 knots, rising up to 20 knots at times.
Moderate seas (up to 2.5 metres). A moderate southeasterly swell (up to 2 metres).
