SITUATION
A ridge of high pressure lies over the southern waters of Tonga directing an east to southeasterly wind flow prevails across Tonga. Meanwhile, a cold front from the west is expected to approach Tele-ki-Tonga and Tele-ki-Tokelau coastal waters, Tongatapu, 'Eua, and Ha'apai by later tomorrow evening with associated cloudy, occasional showers and strong winds at times.
FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT TOMORROW FOR TONGA
FOR THE NIUAS AND VAVA'U:
Light to moderate east winds then becoming northeast by later tomorrow.
Partly cloudy with light showers.

FOR HA'APAI, TONGATAPU AND 'EUA:
Light to moderate east to northeast winds, becoming fresh to strong at times by later tomorrow evening.
Mainly fine with potential isolated showers then becoming cloud with occasional showers with a potential of thunderstorms later tomorrow evening.

Light to moderate east to northeast winds and variable at times.
Fine apart from cloudy periods with showers

FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT TOMORROW FOR TONGA COASTAL WATERS
FOR THE NIUAS, VAVA'U AND HA'APAI COASTAL WATERS:
East to southeast winds up to 10-15 knots and shifting to east and northeast tomorrow. Slight to moderate seas. Possible flooding in low-lying coastal area due to extreme high tides.

FOR TONGATAPU, 'EUA, TELE-KI-TONGA AND TELE-KI-TOKELAU COASTAL WATERS:
Northeasterly winds 10-20 knots and rising up to 25-30 knots at times by later tomorrow. Moderate seas (up to 2-3 metres). Possible flooding in low-lying coastal area due to extreme high tides. Poor visibility in waters of heavy rain.

FOR TELE-KI-TONGA AND TELE-KI-TOKELAU COASTAL WATERS:
Southwest winds 10-15 knots and variable of up to 10 knots at times. Moderate seas (up to 2 metres). Moderate southwesterly swell (up to 3 metres)

FOR TONGATAPU AND 'EUA COASTAL WATERS:
Northwest winds 10-15 knots. Slight to moderate seas (up to 2 metres). Possible flooding in low-lying coastal area due to extreme high tides.

FOR THE NIUAS, VAVA'U AND HA'APAI COASTAL WATERS:
Northeast winds 10-15 knots and variable of up to 10 knots at times. Slight to moderate seas (up to 2 metres). Possible flooding in low-lying coastal area due to extreme high tides.
